A pair of artisanal cups in traditional kintsugi.

The story of the piece: I present to you this duo of emerald green ceramic cups, transformed by the ancient art of Kintsugi. Initially broken, these pieces have been restored using the traditional Japanese method, where the breakage is not hidden but enhanced to tell a new story of resilience. The technique and materials: Faithful to the rules of the art, I have exclusively used natural materials: • Binder: Authentic Urushi lacquer (precious tree sap), ensuring a restoration without any chemical resin or epoxy. • Finish: Kiiro lacquer (ochre/sunny yellow), providing a bright and warm contrast with the deep glaze of the cups. • Protection: A final layer of Ki Urushi has been applied to ensure the longevity of the decoration and a soft touch. Condition and use: These cups are in impeccable condition after restoration. Due to the nobility of Urushi lacquer, this duo is intended for decorative use. They will be perfect for bringing a soul and a touch of "Wabi-sabi" serenity to a sideboard, in a library, or during a calm ritual. Note: Unique item, entirely handmade in my workshop.
