Plate HB & Cie Choisy-le-Roi model Saïgon (1900-1915)

An old ironstone plate from the H. Boulenger & Cie factory in Choisy-le-Roi, decorated in the Saigon pattern. This finely detailed printed decoration draws inspiration from the highly fashionable Far Eastern imagery at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century: Asian-inspired architecture, pagodas, lively lakeside scenes with junks and birds in flight, all in a delicate bluish-green palette on an ivory background. The delicately undulating ornamental border, highlighted by a rich floral and geometric design, adds movement and elegance to the piece while enhancing its decorative character. Stamped H. Boulenger & Cie (Hautin Boulenger & Cie), though the stamp is very faded. The Saigon decoration is attributed to the period circa 1900–1915, before the acquisition of the Creil & Montereau pottery in 1920, which led to a change in the stamp (HBCM). In excellent vintage condition, with a fine network of homogeneous crazing typical of old ironstone, without any cracks or structural chips. The decoration remains clearly visible despite a partially faded stamp. Diameter 25.5 cm, height 4.5 cm.
