Jug in chamotte stoneware signed by Jacques Pouchain (1925-2015) for L’Atelier Dieulefit (Drôme, France) from the 1960s. With a raw and rough appearance, this ceramic piece features tones of raku black, browns, beiges, and highlights of glossy white glaze. Signed underneath L’atelier Dieulefit. In excellent condition: no cracks, breaks, or missing parts. Height 13cm, diameter at the neck 10.2cm, diameter at the base 9.2cm, total length with handle 17cm. Weight 552g. After leaving Paris and his architecture studies in the 1950s, Jacques Pouchain moved to the South of France where he began to learn ceramics. He created his own ceramics workshop in Dieulefit, in the Drôme. Initially functional, his creations evolved towards more anthropomorphic pieces.
