A pair of glazed earthenware oyster plates from the MBFA Pornic factory, model Penerff. Typical composition from the 1960s–70s, featuring six raised compartments arranged around a central starfish motif, framed by stylised seaweed decorations in shades of celadon green, brown, and orange. The decoration references Penerff, a port in Morbihan historically dedicated to oyster farming, with some of the oldest and most renowned oyster parks in Brittany. The mineral and briny palette blends celadon green, deep brown, touches of ochre, and nuanced white, with deliberately highlighted contours that enhance the relief and readability of the decoration. Stamped MBFA (Manufacture Bretonne de Faïences Artistiques) Pornic. In excellent vintage condition, with slight signs of use consistent with age (see photos). Diameter 25 cm. An evocative duo of seaside charm, perfect for a contemporary table where ceramics serve as a strong and artistic accent.
