Bank safe – Napoleon III style – Carved solid walnut – Leather upholstery

Large chest bench in solid walnut, Napoleon III period, second half of the 19th century. Structure composed of a chest with a moulded base, featuring framed panels on the front and sides, resting on turned baluster feet sculpted with characteristic Henri II – Napoleon III leafy motifs. The upper corners of the independent backrest are adorned with carved scrolls and foliage. The padded seat and backrest are upholstered in black leather, secured with brass tacks with golden heads. Condition report: the leather shows significant wear with cracks and flaking, particularly on the seat. The original horsehair filling and jute fabric remain visible under the seat. Reupholstering is necessary and can be carried out on estimate by the workshop. The solid walnut structure is in generally good condition, with perfect stability. Dimensions: H. 95 cm – W. 50 cm – Estimated weight: 60 kg. Delivery is not included in the sale contract and must be arranged separately.
