"Gendarme Hat" wardrobe, Louis XV.

Louis XV wardrobe in chestnut, 18th century. Also known as "Gendarme Hat" wardrobe due to its rounded cornice. In good condition and usable as is, without prior restoration. (Healthy and clean furniture.) Wood dowel assembly. (Therefore, the wardrobe is dismountable if needed.) Two doors at the front, with closure: one interior hook for the left door, two original locks (which work) with two keys for the right door. Three drawers at the bottom, central drawer with a lock that also works. (With the key for the top lock of the door.) Various ornaments, fluting, small stars, fittings..., the whole remains simple, aesthetic, and without overload. Three removable shelves inside (they have been added), this wardrobe can also be used as a hanging space if a rail is added. Dimensions 145 X 60 X height 223 cm. Note: this piece of furniture is antique and very well preserved for its age. The joints have loosened a bit over time and likely due to the various moves it has experienced. Care should be taken during installation to ensure proper fitting on a level floor, and we recommend a small wedge of 2/3 cm under the right rear foot, which has suffered a bit from moisture from a wall it was likely placed against.
