The set of two office chairs was designed by Herbert Hirche for the German manufacturer Mauser during the 1970s. The frame is made from solid anodised aluminium tubes, which is characteristic of Mauser's design. The upholstery is original and is in brown colour. The seat is suspended on belts. Herbert Hirche was a significant figure in German post-war design, known for his minimalist and functional approach. He designed furniture for various manufacturers, including Mauser Werke Waldeck, creating pieces that embodied the principles of modernism. His work was characterised by elegant forms, innovative use of materials, and a focus on ergonomics and comfort, making his designs highly sought after by collectors. The history of the Mauser company dates back to 1896, when Alfons Mauser opened a factory for metal products - Zaunkönig. In 1903, Mauser also developed hermetic, lockable iron sheet steel drums for the chemical and petroleum industries, which became known as the Mauser Patent Barrels. From 1930, the Mauser-Werke company produced chairs made of cantilevered steel pipes according to its own designs. Mauser offered desks, conference tables, club tables, and filing cabinets. The Waldeck factory produced tubular steel seating elements such as single chairs and multi-seat club benches. The set is in original vintage condition. There are minor marks on the original upholstery. The seat height is 42 cm. The colours of the products shown in the photos may differ slightly from the actual ones. This is due to individual monitor settings and lighting conditions – the photos were taken in artificial light, which may affect the perception of colours. However, we strive to ensure that the photos reflect the actual appearance of the product as faithfully as possible. The offer may include photos of the item in a living space, but these are for illustrative purposes only.
