Armchair from the English Regency period, dating to around 1820. Its most distinctive feature is the curved armrests, which end in sculpturally carved scrolls (volutes). The front legs are turned and fluted, typical of the period’s Neoclassical influence. The back legs, by contrast, curve slightly outward to ensure optimal stability. The simple, slightly concave back rail provides comfortable support. The seat features the original traditional upholstery and is covered in a timeless, subtly dotted fabric in muted olive green, finished with a matching trim. Thrifted pieces are repaired thoughtfully. We fix what needs fixing and leave what is already good as it is.
