Superb old Italian school portrait of pious reading Fortunato Bello

Superb and rare oil on canvas signed Fortunato Bello presented at the Oppenheim gallery in 1877 and present in the sale catalog. Cleaning done by a professional, small restoration on the back, museum piece, wear and losses to the frame. Biography. By AM Comanducci, 1962 edition. Born in Venice in 1818, died in Paris in 1859. In 1832, he was admitted to the Accademia Veneta, then directed by Ludovico Lipparini, then to the Scuola Statuaria. His production is very limited. The "Portrait of the noble Luisa Sala", property of the painter Traiano Chitarin, was painted by Bello in 1834 and appeared in the exhibition of the Venetian Portrait of the 19th century in 1923, at the Ca' Pesaro in Venice.
