Antique Italian painting of Saint Jerome from the 17th century

COD 11526. Antique Italian painting from the late 17th century. Oil on canvas (glued to masonite, while being restored), artwork depicting a religious subject, Saint Jerome, of good pictorial quality. This beautifully sized and striking painting is adorned with a non-contemporary frame in wood and plaster, carved and gilded. It is a vertically oriented artwork of good proportions and would easily fit into any room in the home. This painting was previously attributed to the Tuscan painter Giovanni Camillo Sagrestani (1660-1731), but no expert opinion is available.
