Artichoke pendant lamp in opal glass by Peill & Putzler, 1974

Beautiful ceiling lamp from the 70s called ' Artichoke ' from the famous brand Peill & Putzler . This lamp is crafted from sturdy opal glass and emits a beautiful light. It is in excellent condition. The original manufacturer's sticker is located on the socket as a mark of authenticity. Peill & Zoon was founded in 1903 and merged with Putzler (established in 1869) in 1947, becoming Peill + Putzler Glashüttenwerke. Throughout its history, the company collaborated with both important designers and other firms such as Raak Amsterdam and Massive. At its peak (in the 1950s), the company employed approximately 1,500 people. In 2004, a year after its centenary, the company was unfortunately declared bankrupt.
