Vanber gouache on paper circa 1970

This framed gouache on paper by Albert Voisin, known as Vanber (1905-1994), depicts a lively street scene. The work, characteristic of Vanber's work in the 1970s, combines a vivid palette with simplified forms, in a spirit close to the post-war School of Paris. A close associate of Albert Gleizes (1881-1953) and André Lhote (1885-1962), Vanber's work is a continuation of French Cubism and Fauvism.
