🕊 to hunt 4 delightful mazagrans collection 'becs and feathers' of the porcelain factory pillivuyt.I can sell them individually 🕊 The story: the mazagran takes its name from the city of algeria and a battle in which berry soldiers participated during the conquest of the country by the duke of aumale. At the end of the battle, the soldiers were offered mint tea as a sign of peace and friendship. This tea was served in high conical timpani made of inlaid silver. An officer brought home one of these timpani and showed it to charles pillivuyt who had the idea of making porcelain to drink coffee. The name mazagran has imposed itself. Originally, they were designed in thick porcelain to keep the coffee hot, and featured a gold fillet a few millimeters from the edge to reserve a place for the drop of brandy. In 1955, the guillaume house in bourges (tableware merchant) created the lower "mazette" in order to pass under the percolator of the coffee machines of the bars. The robin factory, in the indre, had made it a specialty and produced very large ones. Charles robin was photographed next to a mazagran more than a meter high. 🕊 🕊h14cm. 🕊ø7cm. 🕊very good condition. 🕊vintage. 🕊porcelain. 🐇france. 🕊pillivuyt manufacture.
