Rare guéridon in solid oak attributed to Charles Dudouyt, a remarkable representative of French decorative modernism from the 1940s. The piece stands out for its spectacular turned and sculpted central shaft, rhythmically adorned with diamond-point geometric patterns, a true signature of the decorative vocabulary associated with Dudouyt. The circular base, particularly well-crafted, features a succession of sculpted concentric steps, giving the whole a very architectural presence. The round top with a moulded edge retains all the beauty and natural grain of the oak. With its compact proportions and strong sculptural presence, this guéridon can be used as a side table, end table, or decorative collectible piece. Charles Dudouyt – France, circa 1940. Sculpted and turned solid oak. Height: 40 cm Diameter: 37 cm.
