With its small circular top, long central shaft, and sculptural tripod base, it possesses the simple elegance of utilitarian furniture from the past, which is now particularly decorative. ✨ Its round top, 40 cm in diameter, is bordered by a fine wooden gallery that delicately highlights its shape. The surface has retained all the nuances and marks acquired over time: grain, small traces, variations in hue, and irregularities create a warm patina that we have deliberately preserved. 🪵 The long, slightly curved turned central shaft adds a lot of finesse to the whole. It descends to a base composed of three widely splayed legs, with curved and almost architectural lines. 🌿 It is precisely the contrast between this very light top, the slender shaft, and the three powerful legs that gives it such a lovely presence. Despite its modest dimensions, the table does not disappear in a room: its silhouette naturally draws the eye. 🕰️ The wood clearly bears its history. Notably, there are traces and old holes from wood-boring insects, as well as various marks of time. A treatment has been applied to protect the piece. 🔨 The table has also undergone several repairs throughout its life, particularly visible at the base. Rather than trying to hide them, we prefer to consider them as part of its history: they tell the story of a piece that has been used, maintained, and preserved rather than replaced. 💪 These past interventions do not hinder its use: the table is now solid and stable. Its condition remains that of a true antique piece, with visible patina and restorations, rather than that of a piece artificially refurbished.
