This ceiling light was designed in the 1950s by Louis Kalff for Philips. The design reflects the functional and avant-garde shape that Kalff developed during this period, with a clear emphasis on construction, materials, and light diffusion. The lamp is built around a Bakelite socket with a large base, suitable for an LED light source. A metal bracket is attached to the socket to support it and the shade. Three thin metal rods incline outward and end in a slatted plastic circle, ensuring stability and an open structure. The round shade is made of soft yellow semi-transparent fiberglass. This material ensures even light diffusion and a calm appearance, whether the lamp is on or off. The lamp has been carefully cleaned and is in perfect original condition. The shade is intact, with no cracks or damage. The lamp can be used immediately.
