About the artist: Albert Thiry (1932-2009) was born in Nice, France. His family moved to Vallauris, where he spent most of his school holidays at the potteries; in 1956, he was hired as an assistant decorator with the opportunity to make his own pieces. Albert and his wife, Pyot, established their own pottery in 1961. Their standard production, made from Vallauris clay with the addition of chamotte to accentuate the rusticity, resulted in delightful pieces that were both highly elaborate and utilitarian. Dimensions: H 3 cm / 1.4". W 40 cm / 11.4" L 32.50 cm / 4.5".
