Pair of Safari armchairs model Cikada, designed by Bengt Ruda for IKEA in the 1960s. The armchairs combine a lightweight wooden frame with a canvas seat and leather straps, in the spirit of Scandinavian country furniture. The simple and functional construction, along with the slightly inclined seat, offers natural comfort and an elegant silhouette. Bengt Ruda was one of the most important designers in IKEA's history and played a significant role in the development of the brand's Scandinavian design in the post-war years. The armchairs show a beautiful vintage patina consistent with their age and use. A fine example of vintage Scandinavian design from the 1970s. Seat height +/- 38cm. Possibility to ship the chairs disassembled in a package.
