Ib Kofod Larsen was a Danish architect and furniture designer. After studying architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, the young designer opened his own workshop in the Danish capital. He collaborated with furniture manufacturers in Germany, Sweden, Japan, the United States, and Great Britain, and exhibited his creations across Europe as well as in the United States. Ib Kofod Larsen is responsible for some of the most experimental creations in modern Danish design. Among his most famous works are the "Elizabeth Chair" (1956) and the "Seal Chair" (1955). The sculptural creations of this designer are now among the most sought-after pieces by collectors and gallery owners worldwide. The rocking chair model 650-15 offered here was designed by Kofod-Larsen in 1965 for the Christian Linneberg Møbelfabrik. This sculptural model is distinguished by its boomerang-shaped armrests and its high back with tapered slats. The structure is made of solid teak. The removable cushions are covered in light-coloured wool. The seat straps have been replaced. It bears the manufacturer's mark.
