Early Panton Chair by Verner Panton for Herman Miller 1960s

This sculptural Panton Chair was designed by Verner Panton and belongs to the early productions of this iconic design. The chair retains its original Herman Miller label and dates from the late 1960s to the early 1970s, a period when the chair was produced in heavier fiberglass-reinforced polyester. It is therefore not a later Herman Miller / Fehlbaum or Vitra production, but an earlier example from the period of the first industrial productions. The form, created from a single flowing line without rear legs, was revolutionary when Panton introduced the design in the 1960s.
