Ripe for picking Because nothing evokes the decadence of yesteryear like a bunch of golden grapes! This mirror does not merely reflect — it stages itself. Framed in rich gold, softened by time, and topped with an opulent pediment of grape clusters, acanthus scrolls, and delicate garlands, it is a true centerpiece of the 19th century. If Bacchus had commissioned a mirror for his Parisian pied-à-terre, we believe it would resemble this one. The frame is remarkably deep and massive — a rare detail, and a strong indication of its ancient origin. It is a mirror with a true presence, made to stand out in any room. The gilding has beautifully aged, with that soft, velvety patina that only time can create. The antique glass shows slight speckling — just enough to add character without detracting from clarity. Structurally sound and beautifully marked by time, it carries its age with grace: expect discreet surface wear, small marks, and a touch of period glamour in every reflection. The original back panel was too worn to be restored and has therefore been replaced. Please note: the visible vertical band in the glass is simply a reflection of the photographic background — it is not a defect of the mirror. The visible wooden slats underneath serve as protective support during storage and transport. They can be easily removed if you wish to place or hang the mirror.
