Magnificent antique French mirror in gilded wood from the 19th century, in neoclassical style, with decorative motifs of rope and tassels. This mirror features the original antique glass as well as an original wooden back for the structure. This mirror is in good condition, consistent with its age and use, and retains its original patinated gold leaf finish. The gold leaf gilding of the frame reveals a slight red bole underneath in places, giving the mirror a warm touch. The frame of the mirror is structurally sound and the glass is still in very good condition. There are a few minor imperfections on the frame, as one would expect for a piece of this age and use, but this does not detract from its charm.
