This curly-tailed cat figurine is part of a series of cats designed by joseph simon in the 1970s for the danish ceramics factory søholm. Søholm was one of several ceramic workshops that settled on the island of bornholm in the baltic sea, East of the danish east coast, back in the day. The community of potters on the island included michael andersen, l. Hjorth and johannes pedersen (johgus). Many of these older ceramic vases, plaques and figurines they produced were handmade and hand-painted and not yet mass-produced.they have therefore become collector's items today.this cat is no exception. It is flawless, without chips or cracks, just normal wear and tear over time. It measures 12 cm in height, 10 cm in length and 5 cm in width. Very beautiful and decorative.
