Louis XVI style walnut burl buffet with gilt bronze mounts

An elegant buffet from the Napoleon III era. Crafted from high-end, luxurious materials in the Louis XVI style of the mid-19th century. The piece is made of solid mahogany, entirely veneered in walnut burl with rosewood marquetry inlays. A border is present on all elements: drawer fronts, cupboard fronts, sides, and the mirror frame. The solid bronze mounts are signed "J.P. Déposée". The buffet features three doors and three drawers, with a large, 27mm thick white marble top with brown veining. Above this is a beautiful oval beveled mirror with a bronze pediment in the form of a rampant eagle. The uprights of the piece form a quarter circle, finished with a bronze drop framing the drawers. The drawers are fitted with attractive bronze handles with leaf motifs. The cupboard doors have their original, functional locks and beautifully decorated keyhole escutcheons. One key included. Four Louis XVI style tapered front legs with bronze sabots: solid support. Sideboard in very good original condition. Mercury mirror, beveled all around, with no loss of reflection. Clean and smooth marble top. Sound, stable, and solid piece of furniture. Sideboard dimensions without mirror: 128 cm wide, 114 cm high, 52 cm deep. Mercury mirror: 97/43 cm. Bronze eagle pediment: 35 X 12 X 10 cm. Interior cupboard dimensions: 127 cm wide, 71 cm high, 36 cm deep. Signed "L.P. Déposée" on the back of the bronze mounts.
