Original and unique work created in 1989 and signed by the artist. Purchased from the artist in 2000. Painting on paper collage on canvas. Biography of Marylise Reilly-Fajal: Studies at the École des Beaux-Arts de Montparnasse, Paris, 1978-1985 – 3 hours a day, 2nd prize at the 1982 Paris Art Competition. Studies at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris – 3 years (Engraving with Courtin). Copyist at the Louvre Museum – Copying 15 paintings over 3 years (Rembrandt, Chardin, Claude Lorrain, etc.). Hired as a draftsman for 3 months at the Louvre Museum – Creation of 300 ink drawings of Roman and Greek vases – Publication of the book "Grammar of Styles and Forms." Collaborated with archaeologists from the Collège de France by creating drawings. She studied and earned degrees from the Sorbonne University in Paris (Master's in French/English – Master's in Visual Arts). She had numerous exhibitions in Paris between 1982 and 1990: the Salon de la Peinture à l'Eau (Watercolor Exhibition), the Grand Palais, the Pavillon Baltard, and the Syrian Cultural Center (1986). Invited to Damascus, Syria, by the French Cultural Center and the Syrian Ministry of Culture (April 1985), she was the first international female artist to exhibit in Syria. Her month-long stay included lectures and an exhibition of watercolors created there. She exhibited in Switzerland, Germany, the United Kingdom, and France (1986-1994). Her works are held in private collections. Commissions include a church in Normandy, France; a triptych for the church in Cologny, Switzerland; and eight oil paintings and calligraphies for a private school in Cologny (1993).
