Bas-relief style antique

Sculpture/bas-relief representing a fragment of a disc depicting a female head, the goddess Aphrodite. The original work comes from the island of Milos in Greece. It was created around 460–450 BC, during the classical period of ancient Greece. It is housed in the National Archaeological Museum of Athens. Notable detail: The figure's hair is tied up and enclosed in a sakkos, a type of bonnet or fabric net typical of this era. It is in good condition with minimal signs of wear. Heavy piece! Very beautiful for decorating a relief wall. Height 34cm Width 38cm Depth 8cm.
