The "Cansado" daybed or bench, designed by Charlotte Perriand, is a true collector's item. Created for the "MIFERMA" company, it furnished the apartments of its executives. Its resolutely modern design makes it an essential and easily placed piece in any interior, rendering it unique. The frame and base are made of black lacquered steel, topped with 13 mahogany slats. The cushions are upholstered in Nobilis wool fabric. Other fabrics are available upon request. Provenance: Executive's house in the mining town of Cansado, Mauritania, a town built in the 1960s by the Mauritanian Iron Mining Company "MIFERMA" to house its employees. Some of the furniture was designed by Charlotte Perriand between 1959 and 1967. Seat height: 35 cm. Manufacturer: Steph Simon, circa 1959-1967.
