Buffet William IV in carved Cuban hardwood, circa 1830.

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning William IV mahogany wine cabinet buffet dating from around 1830. A very fine and important piece of furniture, the wood is all period Cuban mahogany with ornate carvings throughout. The top drawer is a very large cutlery drawer lined with felt, the base is lined with metal and can be used as a wine cooler. This is probably the most decorative and well-made buffet I have ever had in my hands; it expresses style, quality, and charm. We have cleaned, waxed, and polished it from top to bottom. This is a piece over 190 years old, with a period patina consistent with its age and honest use. Please see the very detailed photos for the condition, which is an integral part of the description. Please note that vintage period and original items, such as leather seating, always exhibit a natural patina in the form of cracks, creases, and wear. We recommend regular waxing to prevent moisture loss. Additionally, hand-dyed leather should not be exposed to direct sunlight for long periods as it dries out and discolours.
