Rattan magazine rack on black metal frame, Artimeta, 1950

This magazine basket by Artimeta from Soest is really a picture and comes from the collection of metz & co from the 50s. The basket lies loose on an iron frame with a tripod. The magazine basket is in good vintage condition. The diameter is +/- 65 cm and the height 45. The metz & co department store in amsterdam was a leader in the field of home furnishings for decades. The company was founded in the 19th century, but only became really big in the first half of the 20th century. This was mainly because she bought internationally. New home trends from abroad reached the living rooms of the netherlands via metz & co. The design is reminiscent of rattan designs by the italian franco albini.
