Cees Braakman, Pastoe style vintage three-legged solid steel side table. Removable rattan tray set upon a sturdy minimal steel base. Great for a vintage mid-century design interior! Cees Braakman trained at Pastoe (UMS), where he worked through all the departments. From 1949 until 1968 Braakman designed most of the Pastoe models, which were usually part of a complete series of furniture and cabinets. In the 1950s, Braakman was sent to America to study production processes and visited Herman Miller, where he was inspired by the work of Charles and Ray Eames. He was among the first in the Netherlands to apply the new high-frequency pressing technique to make plywood. Dimensions: width 54 cm, depth 50 cm, height 42 cm. Condition report: In good vintage condition with signs of use.
