This large Louis XVI style mirror with parcloses exudes a serene and perfectly controlled elegance. Its tall rectangular silhouette is highlighted by a sculpted and gilded wooden frame, adorned with finely chiseled decorations featuring acanthus leaves, small flowers, and delicate scrolls. The parcloses rhythm the reflective surface and accentuate the verticality of the whole, reminiscent of mirrors from 18th-century châteaux. At the top, a wide, richly decorated pediment draws the eye: a trophy composed of a quiver, arrows, and a crown of flowers, surrounded by branches and ribbons, affirms the reference to symbols dear to the neoclassical decorative vocabulary. The soft and warm gilding highlights the precision of the sculptural work and gives the piece a luminous presence. The central mirror is surrounded by ribboned toruses. With its generous proportions and decorative refinement, this mirror stands as a complete element of interior architecture. It brings depth, brilliance, and a touch of grandeur to any space, while accurately embodying the measured and harmonious aesthetic of the reign of Louis XVI. Period: 19th century. Very good condition. Some pitting. Height: 160 cm Width: 96 cm Depth: 16 cm. Reference: 497V.
