Important mirror with parcloses, Louis XVI style – late 19th century

This large mirror with parcloses features an elegant structure in gilded wood and stucco, whose ornamental richness reflects a strong taste for sculpted decorations inspired by classical styles. The delicately pierced pediment is organised around a central medallion flanked by acanthus leaves and pearls, while a garland of flowers naturally cascades on either side, emphasising the verticality of the whole. The frame, rhythmically adorned with a finely moulded frieze, is embellished with ribboned flower garlands and strings of pearls that soften its lines and enhance its light. The parcloses, framing the main mirror, reinforce the sense of depth and give the piece a majestic presence, ideal for enhancing a classical interior or interacting with contemporary decor.
