Cesca b32 chair by Marcel Breuer, 1970

This Cesca B32 chair by Marcel Breuer was produced in the 1970s. This edition features a chrome-plated steel frame, a solid black varnished beech frame with a cane back and seat. In creating the Cesca chairs, Marcel Breuer sought to better celebrate the tubular steel already used for the creation of the "Wassily" which led him to this cantilevered seat which would become one of the most copied models of the 20th century. The cantilevered shape exploits the unique possibilities of tubular steel and gives the chair more flexibility and comfort. This chair is available in two copies. The canework has no defects. The wood has been patinated by time and shows some normal wear (see photos). The chrome is in good condition.
