Arco Floor Lamp – Iconic Italian Design (Flos, 1960s) Created in the 1960s by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos, the Arco floor lamp is an emblematic piece of Italian design. It stands out for its perfect balance between minimalist elegance and functional ingenuity. The original manufacturer's label is still present. Its structure combines a solid Carrara marble base with a curved stainless steel stem, extended by a polished aluminium reflector. This combination of noble materials gives it a sculptural and timeless appearance, typical of the Italian modernism of the era. A true icon, the Arco is often the reference when thinking of lighting in 1970s or mid-century interiors — so much so that it has been copied, but never equalled the original. The marble base features its signature hole allowing for movement by two people, for example, using a handle. The telescopic and adjustable arm makes it easy to adjust the light according to your needs. Once lit, the lamp diffuses a soft light and creates a warm and sophisticated atmosphere in any room. Condition: Very good vintage condition, with slight signs of use consistent with age (small marks and patina on the steel). Original wiring retained, with a foot switch. Specifications: Socket: E27. Cable length: 370 cm. Marble base: H 55 cm X W 17.5 cm X D 23.5 cm. Shade: H 18 cm X W 32 cm. Folded arm length: 168 cm. Extended arm length: 324 cm. Total dimensions (extended): approx. H 250 cm X W 230 cm.
