An exceptionally rare and complete set of eight matching conference chairs, designed by Ib Kofod-Larsen and manufactured by Fröscher KG (Sitform line) in Jettingen-Scheppach, Germany, in the early 1960s. Each chair is made of solid black walnut with its original clear lacquer finish, highlighting the warm hue and distinctive grain of the wood. The upholstery is in soft original beige leather vinyl, still supple and comfortable, showing only a slight patina consistent with age. This exact set was custom ordered for and used in the conference room of a vocational school (Berufsschule) in Dürrlauingen, Bavaria, since the 1960s. The Sitform line was produced exclusively for institutional and public orders, never available for private retail sale, and manufactured for only a few years — making surviving sets extremely rare. The sculptural form clearly reflects Kofod-Larsen's Danish design language, reminiscent of his famous Elizabeth chairs — with elegantly curved armrests that seamlessly blend into the rear legs, and a refined floating seat construction. The eight chairs are structurally sound, stable, and comfortable. Six retain their original Fröscher KG inspection labels, while two are partially faded. Condition: Overall excellent vintage condition. The original lacquer and upholstery are preserved. One chair has a slight superficial crack at the top of the backrest (visible in the last photo) — purely cosmetic, not affecting comfort or stability.
