Set of 4 antique soup plates – “Blue Cherries” design – 1950s

Charming set of four antique soup plates in white earthenware decorated with a delightful motif of stylized midnight blue cherries. The stenciled design reflects the graphic vocabulary of the 1940s and 50s: simple silhouettes, regular rhythm, fine lines, and delicate punctuation. The plates feature a very attractive, perfectly balanced, dotted circular rim that elegantly frames the design. The blue is deep, richly embedded in the clay, with the slight texture typical of hand-printed pieces from this period. No maker's mark or provenance is indicated. In good vintage condition, with some minor variations in color and small signs of wear. Diameter 20.5 cm, height 3 cm.
