Here is a very beautiful and large jug-shaped vase created in the 1960s or 70s by the Nuovo Rinascimento workshop, founded and designed by Nedo Scappini. He had previously worked for Fratelli Fanciullacci, another highly regarded pottery workshop. More than just a workshop, it was even a factory, as it exported numerous ceramics around the world. Indeed, Italian ceramics were highly sought after worldwide during those years. Nuovo Rinascimento closed its doors in the early 1980s. This wonderful ceramic vase features very beautiful relief patterns, finely executed, that repeat in a frieze all around the vase, typical motifs of this designer (but often wrongly attributed to Aldo Londi!). It also has glazing with such lovely colours in shades of blue and green. All of this reflects great mastery and beautiful craftsmanship. This vase has traversed the decades almost without issues, with only one small chip on the glazing at the bottom of the handle and a small defect in relief (perhaps a burst bubble) inside the neck, which seems to be original (see the last two photos). It measures 26 cm in height, approximately 16 cm in diameter at the belly, and about 21 cm in maximum width (from the handle to the belly).
