Here is a charming vase or pitcher made of Italian ceramic from the 1960s or 70s, featuring beautiful colours, two shades of blue and white, with a design applied on top and incised into the material. It has no markings, but I have formally identified it (through a group of Italian ceramic enthusiasts). It is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship made in the Nuovo Rinascimento workshop, founded and designed by Nedo Scappini. He also previously worked for Fratelli Fanciullacci, another highly regarded pottery workshop. More than just a workshop, it was even a factory, as they exported numerous ceramics around the world. Indeed, Italian ceramics were highly sought after worldwide during those years. Nuovo Rinascimento closed its doors in the early 80s. This vase is in generally good condition, with no significant cracks or chips, but it does show some signs of its age: a small glaze skip on the neck of the opening and several small nicks on the relief decoration on the body, which are not very visible as they blend into the design. It measures 20 cm in height and approximately 14 cm in maximum diameter (at the body).
