Japanese tea set. Made in Tokoname, famous for its red clay pottery. Tokoname terracotta is characterized by its high iron content. The iron then mixes with the catechin present in the tea and when the tea is infused in a clay kyusu, it has less astringency and its taste is sweeter. Decorated with the essential Mount Fuji and other traditional Japanese engraved motifs. Consists of a teapot (capacity ±1.3 l, weight 915 g) with its clay filter, 5 cups (ø 8 cm, capacity 100 ml) and 5 saucers (ø 12 cm). This service is complete, in Japan and Korea, tea sets have an odd number of cups (3 or 5). One saucer is chipped (see photo) The exterior of the teapot spout is slightly chipped (see photo), however the spout pours well.
