Magnificent glass art vase sculpture (2.52 kg|H 26.5 cm) from Murano (1960/1970) made using the prestigious Zanfirico (Filigrana) technique and encapsulated in Sommerso within a clear crystal of absolute transparency. HIGHLY TECHNICAL CRAFTSMANSHIP & GLASS WORK: • ZANFIRICO / TRICOLORE FILIGRANA TECHNIQUE: Complex twist of filigree in opaline white glass (Lattimo), sky blue, and a subtle powder pink/amethyst mauve forming a finely spiralled mesh. • SOMMERSO EXPANSION: The filigree mesh is submerged in a significant mass of clear crystal (Cristallo), creating stunning plays of refraction and depth. • HOT WORKING: Freeform stretched and pinched into an asymmetrical corolla shape. • COLD FINISHING: Flat ground and mirror-polished base.
