Very beautiful column in unpainted exotic wood of asian origin, probably indonesian; late 19th - early 20th century. My father found it in the 1950s and transformed it into a floor lamp (photo nr 2). At the top, 4 elephants fit into a 16x16cm square and are used to hold a tray, which you can make in wood, or marble or other. The feet are part of a triangle measuring 55cm on each side and represent 3 lions; the barrel represents a snake coiling in a green setting. Some details of the greenery are missing but it is barely visible given the richness of the decor. I removed the electrical assembly, because it was unreliable diy, which leaves you the option of using it as originally, or you can install a new lampshade, and reassemble lighting; I then recommend fitting 2 e27 sockets (large screws). This is a very beautiful old ethnic piece, which will add a very marked touch of originality to your interior.
