Set of 5 Zen armchairs Steiner Paris – Kwok Hoï Chan – reissue 2008

Rare set of 5 ZEN armchairs designed by Kwok Hoï Chan for Steiner Paris (Steiner Paris labels present, purchase documents retained). Sale as a lot preferred. The ZEN armchair, created by designer Kwok Hoï Chan in the late 1960s and published by Steiner Paris, has become an iconic piece of French design. This is a set of 5 identical armchairs, ordered in 2007 and delivered in 2008 from a Steiner dealer. The tubular structures are in perfect condition. Four covers were replaced in 2015 by the same supplier (invoice retained) with a Beluga Couida upholstery. Composition of the upholstery: 45% polyester – 20% polyamide – 27% polyurethane – 8% elastane. Two patterns for the covers have also been retained, allowing for identical reupholstering. Dimensions: Height 96 × Width 66 × Depth 69 cm. The red covers currently show stains and signs of use, visible in the photographs. The structure and all the armchairs remain in good usable condition. The covers are removable and can be professionally cleaned or replaced. Retaining the original patterns of the covers is a real advantage for restoration: it is possible to remake the covers while precisely respecting the cut of the model and, potentially, to choose another material or colour of your choice, depending on the professional you consult. These armchairs will particularly suit a design enthusiast, decorator, architect, collector, or professional looking to restore a coherent set of five pieces.
