Authentic two-body antique buffet in solid wood, from the late 19th to early 20th century, with rustic and timeless charm, ideal for a chic country decor, family home, or contemporary interior seeking a character piece. This piece of furniture features a beautiful natural patina revealed by complete stripping, highlighting the warm grain of the wood. It is made of solid elm or walnut, traditional woods commonly used in French regional furniture for their robustness and decorative grain. The furniture consists of two parts: Upper part with two doors opening onto shelves, perfect for displaying crockery, dishes, or decorative objects. Lower part with two doors and an internal shelf offering generous storage space. The whole is topped with a removable moulded cornice and features beautiful framed door panels that testify to old artisanal craftsmanship. The furniture has been completely stripped and treated against wood-boring insects. However, it shows numerous woodworm holes, characteristic of antique furniture and visible on certain parts of the wood. The wood is now healthy and stabilised after treatment, and these marks of time contribute to the charm and authenticity of the piece. Condition: structurally sound, signs of age and visible woodworm holes, consistent with its age. Also note some missing pieces at the corners of the upper part. All of this is visible in the photos. Ideal in a dining room, kitchen, or country house to bring character and authenticity. NB: The actual colour of the cornice is lighter than in the photos. It is the same shade as the rest of the buffet. Dimensions of the lower part: L.134.5 x D.58 x H.94 cm. Dimensions of the upper part without cornice: L.120 x D.51 x H.105 cm. Total height with cornice: 214 cm.
