Period: ca. 1920-1940. A pair of ultra-charming bookends with jumping greyhounds representing the popular art deco theme of speed and aerodynamics. Although these are made of a non-noble material – stained pine wood – the representation of these greyhounds has something very elegant. Dogs are positioned above a stylized thicket of herbs; they are tied with metal rods. The base is formed by an inclined block of rectangular wood. State: Good. One of the dogs lost part of the front leg (see photo). Age-related wear marks. These were polished with a tinted wax to bring out their color and shine again. Dimensions: see photo.
