Sculpture of a greyhound

Superb Art Deco ceramic greyhound sculpture in emerald green. This captivating piece depicts a greyhound in full stride, in a dynamic and elegant pose. The clean lines and stylised form are typical of the Art Deco movement of the 1920s-1930s. The emerald green glazing is intense, with beautiful iridescent reflections that catch the light. Signature/Marking: The piece retains an original paper label on the side of the base, indicating '... Arbona...' (Arbona Frères & Cie from Tours). This detail enhances its authenticity and history. The main glazing is in very good condition and has retained all its brilliance. It should be noted, as visible in the detailed photos, that there are two small chips of ceramic on the lower right corner of the black base, revealing the white paste underneath. The paper label is old and worn. The structure of the greyhound is intact. A rare and highly decorative collector's piece, perfect for an Art Deco enthusiast's interior or for a collector of animal ceramics. Size: 24 X 45.5 X 11 cm. Ref: 1041.
