Article: Teapot with original lid and pointed spout. Brand: Manufacture de Sainte-Uze - Drôme (type Revol - Saint-Vallier) Model: Ball model / Tea ball. Creator / Artist / Designer: Fabrique du Nord Drôme - Ceramics of Sainte-Uze. Pattern: Frieze of stylised Art Nouveau lambrequins, laurel wreaths, bells. Garland decoration on the lid. This is NOT a simple stamp. Base decoration in cobalt blue printed, then highlights of polychrome relief glazes hand-painted (thick drop) + gilding. Style: Art Nouveau / Napoleon III / Blues of Saint-Uze. Period: Late 19th - early 20th century (around 1880-1910) Colour(s): Sèvres blue / Deep cobalt blue + Gold + White, Orange-red and Water green in relief. Material: Fire clay / Fine stoneware - Fire porcelain - Kaolin and feldspar stoneware - suitable for fire. Condition: Very good overall condition, beautiful preserved mirror shine. Glaze without scratches, no cracks on the body. Clean interior. Minimal micro-wear from use at the tip of the spout and handle - tiny glazed chips. Gilding and relief glazes complete and well-present. Original lid. Stamp: Impressed marks under the base: number 4 and letter A / R - Signs of past adhesion and patina of age under the foot - No clear REVOL mark, attributed to Sainte-Uze by paste, shape and decoration - See photos.
