Pair of Neo-Renaissance armchairs, circa 1870

Charming pair of neo-renaissance style armchairs dating from the late 19th century. The base is said to be lion's paw for the front feet. The crossbeam connecting the feet is composed of a frieze of quadrilobed ovals decorated with flowers. The studs are straight and decorated with geometric patterns and a flower in the center. The armrests are carved with floral motifs and a lion's head. The top of the backrest studs is carved with an acanthus leaf. The tapestry is patterned with bouquets of flowers and is in very good condition.
