Cylindrical teak base with a white lacquered metal shade featuring overlapping geometric openings. Design by Hans-Agne Jakobsson, Sweden, 1960s. Designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson in the 1960s, this Swedish table lamp combines a simple cylindrical teak base with a tall white lacquered metal shade. The surface of the diffuser is punctuated by four rows of geometric elements cut into the metal and slightly raised, allowing light to filter through the narrow openings. The contrast between the warmth of the teak and the light-coloured metal, together with the exploration of screened and indirect light, is characteristic of Jakobsson’s contribution to post-war Scandinavian lighting design. The original electrical system is in working order; for use outside the European Union, it may need to be adapted to comply with local electrical regulations. Good condition. It may show signs of age. Please pay attention to the photographs. AF878
