Spanish faience plate with blue decoration – 19th century. Beautiful faience plate with blue decoration on a white background, featuring a rich baroque-inspired motif composed of scrolls, volutes, and stylised floral elements, arranged symmetrically around a central motif. This type of decoration, typical of Spanish productions from the 19th century, evokes the great Iberian ceramic traditions influenced by the ancient decorations of Talavera or Manises. An old label on the reverse states: "Spanish plate given by Uncle Louis Taver..., in memory of Bayonne, killed on 13 June 1840, " providing an interesting period testimony and a historical dimension to the object. The glaze shows a beautiful patina with slight wear and small signs of use consistent with its age. Diameter: 30 cm. Height: 4 cm. Quality decorative object, ideal for wall display or to complement a collection of antique faience.
