Very beautiful pair of traditional handmade maracas, made from natural gourd and entirely hand-painted, of Mexican origin. Each maraca is decorated with stylised floral patterns in vibrant colours – red, turquoise, and white – characteristic of Mexican folk art from the 1960s–1970s. The slight variations between the two pieces testify to authentic craftsmanship, making this set unique. The maracas are fully functional: the sound is present, clear, and rhythmic, thanks to their natural filling (seeds). They can be used as a percussion instrument, but also fit perfectly as a decorative object, in a bohemian, ethnic, or artist's home setting. ✨ Condition: very good vintage condition, patina consistent with age. ✨ Origin: Mexico. ✨ Period: 1960s–1970s. ✨ Material: hand-painted natural gourd. ✨ Decor: polychrome floral patterns. ✨ Function: musical instrument & decorative object. ✨ Sale: sold as a pair. A set full of character, ideal for lovers of traditional craftsmanship, vintage ethnic pieces, or to bring a warm and unique touch to an interior. “Each piece is unique, hand-painted on natural gourd.”.
